ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY

The format

The encounters with Luca Mercalli, President of the Italian Meteorological Society, by the name “Climate change and hydrogeological risk” and “Environmental challenges for your future”, respectively targeting teachers at every educational level in Liguria, and junior and senior high schools students in Liguria are part of the set of initiatives that Fondazione Garrone plans specifically for the world of school. The themes proposed are all highly topical and all-embracing to cover all the subjects in the school curriculum; their goal is to bring back to the forefront our fundamental relationship with the environment - the basis for all day-to-day activities and every future prospect - in all educational actions targeting young people.

INFORMED AND AWARE YOUNG GENERATIONS

More specifically, Fondazione Edoardo Garrone offers teachers these moments of exploration to provide them with the updated content and practical tools that they can use to follow up the issues throughout the academic year. Viewpoints, reflections, weather prediction models, guided web browsing and interactive engagement with the speaker will help teachers build points of reference in order to address the overarching theme of environmental challenges with their students. For the young people themselves, the desire is to bring them face-to-face with an authoritative opinion on the themes of the environment and sustainable development; a person who can make them accountable for the role they play and the choices they make in their daily lives, and in their educational and professional choices, to give our planet a future.
